This altered rectangular pot features a light brown stoneware clay with speckles. It was slab constructed, feet were pinched and clay carved away. After a bisque firing it was wiped with iron oxide to enhance the clay texture and patina and fired once more to about 2300f. The first photo shows some “flash” which is a bit of shiny-ness, where a glazed pot was close to this one in the kiln, the gasses accumulate and form a glaze.
